Apple Releases 7.1 Beta 2, iOS 7.0.4 Utility to Jailbreak 7.1
Today, over three weeks since Apple issued the first beta iteration of iOS 7.1, the company seeded 7.1 beta 2 for those who are enrolled in the official iOS Developer program. The update, which is available for immediate download viaApple’s Dev Center, carries a new build number: 11D5115d. Like with the first beta version of 7.1, it’s likely that the updated beta 2 firmware doesn’t patch any of the valuable and crucial vulnerabilities the evad3rs have been stockpiling since iOS 7′s release and are planning on implementing into their upcoming UnTethered iOS 7(.1) jailbreak utility. In other words, said tool will likely jailbreak 7.1, in addition to 7.0.4 and all previous iterations of Apple’s seventh major firmware series.
While the first 7.1 beta brought remedies for a number of minor bugs, in addition to adding a new Yahoo log and burst mode upload options for the Camera app and a toggle for the new “dark keyboard,” the second beta seemingly offers less than its predecessor.
According to iOS 7.1 beta 2′s release notes, the latest version of the firmwarecorrects several minor bugs that were overlooked in the first beta, adds a new lists toggle for the Calendar app and has relocated the Touch ID options for the iPhone 5s to the main Settings screen.
Unlike with the first beta, neither iH8sn0w nor MusleNerd have chimed in to shed light on how the firmware may, or may not, affect the upcoming jailbreak – however, should that change, we’ll certainly update this article immediately.
Stay tuned for coverage on not only the upcoming iOS 7 UnTethered jailbreak, but also complete details on its development.
